Other people are asking...
So you are new to chiropractic care and aren't sure what to expect. Here are some common questions people have:
I've heard you "crack backs." What does that even mean?
As a chiropractor, we use our hands to move the joints of the body, most commonly in the spine. The movement is very minimal, and quick. This causes some of the gas in the joint to escape causing that "popping" or "cracking" sound, which may or may not be heard.
Will the adjustment hurt?
Typically the treatment is completely painless, and most patients feel immediate relief. In some cases there is some residual soreness associated with the treatment. Every person's body responds differently, but if you are having any pain let the doctor know so he can address it. The goal is always to make you feel better.
Is it safe?
Yes! Chiropractic care has been proven to be one of the safest, most effective, and cost effective treatments available. There are some conditions that limit or prevent chiropractic care, which the chiropractor will address in the physical examination to make sure you are getting the appropriate treatment.
Do I have to wear special clothes to my appointment?
No, but if you can wear loose fitting shorts and shirt, or bring them with you to change into on your first, visit that will make some of the tests easier for the doctor. For all of your following treatments your normal every day clothes work just fine.
If you have any extra questions, please fell free to ask and we will do our best to answer. We can then add it to the FAQ's, because if you are thinking it, somebody else is too.
